In 2013, we were approached by a local beekeeper we met at the Farmer’s Market, who said we needed bees to pollinate the lovely Luffa flowers. We learned that bees love Luffa and a delicious tasting honey results. Therefore, the journey into bees began.
Our farm is a certified Bee Friendly Farm through Pollinator Partnership. The farm is also a Monarch Butterfly Waystation (#11382). On our farm, we grow over 70 native and cultivated plants, shrubs and trees that are pollinator friendly. The farm currently has 3 to 4 bee hives, and we are experimenting with horizontal hives. We work with Nature’s Nectar LLC in Boyd.
