Luffa is an international crop revered in many countries. It offers several health benefits including skin exfoliation, sinus treatments, and shingle treatments. Every part of the plant can be used, making Luffa an economic resource worldwide.
We have been growing Luffa for over 20 years. Luffa was grown for the bees. The flower is a major provider of pollen. Pollen is a protein source for the baby bees. Cats, Rabbits, and Chinchillas also love Luffa. In fact, our cat RB started playing with the Luffa, so we started designing cat toys. In 2005, we began selling the cat toys in local shops. We named our company LUV A LUFFA and appointed RB as the CEO (Cat Executive Officer and Product Developer). Over the years, our Luffa products have grown. These products include Luffa scrubs, soaps, diffusers, cat toys, ChiDamaLuffa and Luffa farm art and awards.
Growth of the Farm: Through our journey, we have learned of the wonderful benefits Luffa has for bees. Luffa will flower all the way up to the first frost so it is an important food source for bees especially during late Summer and Fall when flower sources can be scarce. The beekeeper we partner with produces fantastic honey, creamed honey, soaps and more. Learn more about our Bees.
Goats also love to eat Luffa. It is a great food source for them. We added Lamancha Dairy Goats to our farm, and they truly enjoy the Luffa. The luffa is a fantastic source to help keep our goats healthy and hydrated. We use the goat milk to produce dog treats, soaps and more. Learn more about our Lamancha Goats.
